Wimbledon 2007

Woah..its really a nice, yet different feeling to blog while watching wimbledon 2007 (FEDERER v nadal)

Firstly..I have got to thank Mr Daniel for giving me the link to this cool program to watch Wimbledon (esp when the nearest coffee shop showed F1 instead of the Wimbledon finals, and the next nearest coffee shop refuses to on their big plasma tv when there is no soccer match, and hence, i have to give up watching with my dad at some coffeeshop, and return home to watch from my small computer screen.) and next, I have to thank god that the program really does work, and that it shows Wimbledon 2007 instead of the 2006's that I falsely suspected it to.

Alright..about the game. Honestly, i think both of them dun play well. coz..Fed has too many unforced errors, but i guess he made it up with all his aces! his aces!! woah!! its really good. and then tat nadal (its rather apparent at this stage on who i support) ok..he really plays tactic.

but i realised..nadal has very few unforced errors, whereas fed has a lot; most of fed's 1st serve seldom gets thru; and others..and then..it dawned upon me that ROGER FEDERER is a real tennis talent. coz..if he cld b no. 1, and yet he has so many unforced errors, it says quite alot abt him..doesnt it? and, theres is apparently room for improvement for fed. if he really works on all his unforced errors...waz n1 nadal to him? (n like most commentaries..i have to b objective) nadal really does has his good points. n hez young. but..i dun noe..i hate his face n his guts the min i saw this sinister, scheming look on his face when 1 of his tactic worked, and fed lost the game.

and anw..fed is really angry with the judge over 1 of the balls (which i think is really unsporting of him..coz the hawkeye really proved tat the ball was juz at the line) but..i guess it really spurs him on. I hope he wins the wimbledon.

which brings me to the next issue. the hawkeye. i dun noe to call it a good invention or a surprise spoiler. with the hawkeye, the disputed ball could be tracked, and the "accused" player cld prove tat his ball was really in the court. but somehow, it reminded me of a computer game (no specific game in particular) but..juz A computer game. it feels so much like a simulated game. Too fake. And it causes the game to lack any elements of surprise, and fate. In the past, if the ball lands just at the line, a player can only count his prayers, and hope the umpire rules in his favour. But now, you can only hope tat the program some engineer wrote works in ur favour. Well..

Oh..at this moment, I take back some of my harsh words against Nadal. He hurt his knee. (which reminds me of chewsy, coz she insists tat shez got tennis elbow n the lubricant at her knee cap is gone, all coz of tennis.) Ouch. It looks painful, and this man (I suspect it's his coach) is helping him ease the pain through some massaging. And..WAS THAT TEARS?? must have really hurt. I rem during this whole match, he fell 2x. 2x he rushed to save a ball, and 2x he lost his balance and fell to the ground (gracefully) and could recover by turning on his back, and then on his legs (somewhat like a martial art move). And at this crucial moment, i think fed is really unfeeling. His opponent is hurt, n he looks damn pleased (coz its a turn in his favour), n he could do some warm ups while his opponent is being bandaged up. Then again, alls fair in war n love. He can't just because his opponent is down, and he feels pity for tat poor guy, and let him win rite?

anw, at this moment, i strongly believe federer will win. (with his newly found volleying tactic and the many aces that he hit) but..its a really REALLY long match. its 12.20am on my computer clock, n the scores r like 7(9) - 6(7), 4 - 6, 7(7) - 6(3), 2 - 6. How long more to go?? I'm beat..but..to watch for so long, n to give up half way..its so LOSER! i cant do it!

but woah! i love their undying determination to get all the balls (no matter how far away, and how slim the chances r tat they will miss it). its amazin! i'll confirm give it up, n pray tat i'll hit better, n b located strategically at the next game point.

really feel like sleeping. shld i? or shld i not? but...its 2-2. n if my information is accurate, i think its gonna b the last set. n while waiting for there to b a breathtaking moment, n if theres some1 reading my blog, heres some nice links:

1) compliments from chewsy: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/704420/soderling_imitating_nadal/

its this irritating man (Soderling) who mocked nadal, when its really his fault tat nadal teased him. but! those 2 men (i repeat..MEN) r like monkeying around. They arent even paying attention to the game.

2) my fav link:

I just love the way he turns the racket. Did I mention tat he imitates this ex=tennis pro's manner of serving? Service is really.. (difficult) he imitates pete sampras's serve,n the program juz relesed tat he's forehand is like bjorn borg. (how reliable is this..i dun noe..esp when i dun noe them, n with my half-opened eyes, n mal-functioning brains..i really dun noe if i got the right name)

ALRIGHT..BACK TO THE GAME.

can u believe it?!!? fed won 1 set (straight) with 4 aces! nadal cldnt do anything abt it. woah! he's aces record currently stands at 22 - 1 (1 from nadal)

WIMBLEDON 2007 25 June - 8 July.. WINNER: Roger Federer (Sui). 5x winner of wimbledon.

Congrats Federer!!
